Where: El Ayoun Gran Apertura, 2012
Faces: As always, the restaurant was awash with Ibiza’s restaurateurs and hoteliers making the most of their last month of freedom and the French were out in full force and finery! In addition we heard a lot of English accents from unfamiliar faces – could it be that the Ibiza 2012 season has already kicked off and these were the first official VIP tourists?
Food & drink: It’s all about the bubbles at El Ayoun, though we have to admit it wasn’t that simple to score a glass, with the makeshift terrace bars serving only spirits and the inside champagne bars so busy it was almost impossible to make it through the crowds. Needless to say, where there’s a will, there’s a way!
We loved: That it’s already hot enough to hang out on the terrace, sans jacket and scarf – yes really! People watching from said terrace is also a pretty good perk!
