Floral dresses are one of those things which I often see on other people and think ‘Oh, how cute,’ so go and buy like, 12 of them and then remember that usually I LOATHE them on myself. Oversized punchy florals, I can handle, but cutesy, ‘ditzy’ (sick in mouth) ones are really not happening for me.
This dress manages to buck the trend, somehow. I don’t know how, but it does. I love it. I bought it at the Ibiza institution that is the San Jordi Flea Market a couple of years ago and it comes out once or twice a summer. We’re not best friends, but we do get on. It’s got cool little criss-cross straps at the back and looks pretty sweet with a belt. I went for Topshop leopard print here (we know how I love a print-mix) and my Zara leopard flats again.
The vintage Givenchy straw bag is another flea-market gem, although of a slightly higher calibre. It’s from Les Pouces in Paris and I found it whilst shopping with Mama, who is as much of a sucker for vintage as I am. I love the bold colours and the strong, clean lines – something you wouldn’t normally associate with raffia.
My gold lattice ring is from a little boutique in Ibiza’s old Port and sits really sweetly with all my gold Daisy pieces.
The cats aren’t mine – we found them in the street. If I had cats they wouldn’t look as rubbish as that.
