Sometimes I find I’ll have two items of clothing, which for some reason, never got to make friends before despite the fact that when you put them together they absolutely kill it.
These little high-waisted yellow denim shorts (ever so Daisy Duke) are from a vintage store on St Marks Place in NYC, and they’d never even thought of hanging out with my galaxy-print Christopher Kane silk vest (Selfridges) until this week.
I’d been prepping a shoot for FHM which I was styling, and it was all colour-pop and David Lachapelle and very tongue-in-cheek, so maybe the colours just felt right after sifting through a wardrobe full of neon visors and red heart sunglasses.
Either way, I think the little blind date between the vest and the shorts has really worked. I love it.
I’m also a sucker for multiple prints so I think the leopard bag (Reiss) and leopard flats (Zara) sit really nicely here, whilst the Matthew Williamson sunglasses (reVOLVER) just tone everything down a touch.
But my absolute favourite extra especial point (that I only noticed today looking at the pics) is that my top is midnight-y and my shorts are very sunny and my company is called Midnight Sun! Spooky and awesome all at the same time.
PS. Also totes love how my Daisy Jewellery Heart Chakra Bracelet is catching the light in such a surreal way (main pic) – VERY She-Ra.
