Clothes and places hold really strong associations for me and this jumpsuit especially has a little story…

One trait I’ve definitely inherited from my father is a love of embarking upon spontaneous and seemingly random trips to relatively odd destinations. Add that to the fact that getting there is half the fun, and it wasn’t really a surprise to the rest of my family when the two of us decided to take a boat from Newcastle to Norway for a couple of days.

For no particular reason other than that we could.

The little fishing town of Stavanger excelled in three departments – EPIC vintage clothes stores in a number totally out of proportion to the size of the town (more on these later), the world’s most expensive restaurants, and an outdoor wildlife photography exhibition made up of GIANT prints. Never ones to pass up a good photo op, Daddy and I spent a wholesome hour pretending to be being attacked by said animals and making our own photos. You can see the results here.

In one of the proliferation of harbourside vintage shops, I happened upon this adorable little pink and white printed cotton jumpsuit and it came straight back on the boat with us. It looks slightly weird on the hanger but I think the neat little shoulder cutouts and harem-style drawstring legs keep it looking really modern, and the tan accessories keep it out of total Shaz territory.

My leather shoes are from the Spanish store, Stradivarius, and they work really nicely with the vintage Jaeger belt, which belonged to my mama. I love that the buckle on the belt is made of rattan, because that in turn ties in perfectly with the Ibiza staple basket bag. I love this basket in particular because it’s not so crazily big that it looks beachy and the leather trim keeps it quite smart for town. The cutey white sunglasses were a gift from Laura.
