A very rare piece of furniture, collected by Solis Lucrum owner Anisya Sam on her worldly travels, this table is colonial with real ebony inlay and its maker’s signature carved into the wood. Discovered in a Sri Lankan tea estate, designed by Geoffrey Bawa, one of the best architects of his time, and the most influential in South East Asia in the last decades of the 20th century, according to Sam. ‘He is the principal force behind what is today known globally as tropical modernism,’ she says.
