In case you haven’t heard, summer arrived early in Ibiza this year, in fact, not just here but also in London, Amsterdam, Paris and even Oslo! Of course we’re quite used to beautiful sunny days on the white isle, but the weather has been so spectacular people are already digging out their swimsuits and getting in the water. The beaches could almost be considered crowded!

This is bad news for those who thought bikini bootcamp could wait until after Easter this year, because demand for 2011 swimwear has already begun. Fortunately most of the Ibiza locals seem to have kept in good shape over the winter, when hot yoga, spin classes and power plates take preference over dance floors.

Finding the perfect swimsuit is something most regular girls dread, and finding one out of season can be damn near impossible! While not every beach destination has the kind of clothes you’d be happy to be seen in – think of rails of tie-dye at Goa’s markets or overly-glitzy numbers in Sant Tropez – thankfully, it’s not a problem in Ibiza. You can buy everything for your holiday in the fabulous shops here!

My favourite beachwear is from a UK label called Heidi Klein. I must confess to finding it slightly odd for a swimwear designer to originate from such cooler climes – it’s a bit like someone from the Maldives designing skiwear! Then again the Brazilians are perfectly qualified to design swimsuits, it’s just they are a little bit too skimpy for most backsides, so who’s to say who is most qualified for the task!

reVOLVER stocked the Heidi Klein range for the first time last year at and it flew off the rails – not just the bikinis, but also some very sexy ‘70s inspired one-piece models too. One was even chosen for a photo shoot the Swedish House Mafia did for Mixmag (the DJs didn’t wear them I might point out). We had many inquiries about that particular model… and the swimsuit too!

This year it’s all about the headwear – in particular a very wide brimmed straw hat that goes brilliantly with wedges, a maxi-dress and oversized shades. Perfect for cocktails at a classy afternoon villa party, or to hide from those nasty paparazzi, should the need arise.
