With a buzz in the air – not unlike the kind of buzz you feel in New York on a hot summer’s night – from the minute you walked through the door, there’s no doubt in my mind that the mood here was literally screaming P.A.R.T.Y.

New Aura PR hottie Sara Torralbo was expertly manning the door – which meant Miss W could subtly ask for updates on who was coming and going at all hours – while the rest of the Aura family presided over the event like the perfect hosts.

The regulars on the Ibiza party scene were all in attendance, meaning there was plenty of air kissing and schmoozing out on the terrace by the all-new cocktail bar, however Miss W has to admit that around three quarters of the crowd – yes, really – were completely unknown to her and predominantly Spanish locals, which must mean Hayden and the Aura team are definitely doing something right, as its always the locals that are the hardest to please!

Perhaps it was the delish tapas menu adding to the appeal, plate after (very stylish) plate of gourmet heaven being delivered to the big Moroccan banquettes. Or maybe it was the expertly created cocktails being shaken AND stirred by the very handsome Aura bartenders? Or was it the music, from DJ Ernesto Altés – who literally had to be dragged off the decks (and I mean that in a nice way!) at the end of the night at the insistence of Aura’s owners, who understand that here in Ibiza it’s not worth risking your license for the constant cries of ‘One more song! Una mas!’

Aura really is a fusion of fashion styles these days – while some chicas are dressed to the nines in their best party frocks and sky-high heels, others pull off that boho-Ibiza casual look with ease. In fact, Miss W spied our local style icon, Jade Jagger, looking very off-the-beach chic, wearing an amazing hairstyle that I will definitely be trying at home later! One long plait wrapped all the way around her head – very Medieval princess style – quite possibly a new trend for summer? Being blessed with lush, long Jagger-esque locks is probably an essential for this look however… and of course, the confidence that comes with it to pull off such a quirky look!

THE LOWDOWN

THE GOOD: The new car park across the road meant the flow of traffic on the San Juan road was much more controlled – no more ducking and weaving the cars parked perilously on the side of the road. Both Aura car parks by the way, were completely full – surely a good sign that there’s a party going on inside!

THE BAD: Why did it have to end? OK, so I totally understand it’s a licensing issue, but Miss W was having such a good time it seemed a shame to have to pack up and leave at 5am – too early to go home, yet too late to contemplate moving the party to Pacha.

THE GOSSIP: The dim, soft (and might I say very flattering) light in Aura makes it pretty difficult to take a good snapshots inside, meaning the process of party pics are generally best left to the pros. However Miss W spotted three of the island’s most well known snap-happy types at the party – and not one of them was sporting their camera! A conspiracy perhaps? Photographers day off? Well, there won’t be any photographic evidence to say the least…
