Miss W’s blog: 33 things you might not know about me!

Miss W

As I’m about to enter my fifth year of writing this blog, I started thinking about how much our readers know about me. Sure, you know what I think about parties, about V.Day, W.Day, New Year’s Day, my birthday, and lots of other days… but about me personally? Well! We’ve never really been formally introduced now have we? (more…)

Miss W’s blog: W-Day MY way

Maria SImon, Ibiza wedding photography

Let me start by saying that’s not my beautiful wedding dress you see hanging in the window there. Let’s not get overexcited here. Gorgeous yes, mine no. You see, unlike most other girls my age who also happen to love fairytales, fashion and footwear, having a major W-Day (as the bridal magazines say) has never really been my dream. But when (if!) I do have a wedding, I will be sticking firmly to the 10-point checklist below… (more…)

Miss W’s blog: Ibiza New Year Exposed!

Miss W: Ibiza New Year exposed!

Have you recovered from the head-throbbing-to-the-point-of-decapitating-oneself-hangover yet? Are you ready to bunker down for the customary January detox and hibernation or are you of the belief that New Year continues all the way through until Kings Day on January 6 (in Ibiza anyway)? While I’m not going to tell you which side of the fence I’m leaning towards, let’s recap the last few days of party action to help inspire you one way or another! (more…)

Miss W’s blog: My New Year’s resolutions

Miss W: New Year's Resolutions

The problem with me and New Year’s resolutions is that I always have so many of them, I kind of lose track, half-heartedly follow some of them and then end up totally forgetting them all, meaning come the following New Year’s Eve, my list is always exactly the same as the previous year’s! (more…)

Miss W’s blog: So this is Christmas?

xmas_ibiza-23

That’s the question I keep hearing out and about in Ibiza lately, provoked by the consistently amazing sunny weather, constant stream of visitors and plethora of parties to attend! Not that we’re complaining of course (in fact, we’re loving every minute), it’s just that, well, aren’t we supposed to get some downtime at Christmas in Ibiza? (more…)

Miss W’s blog: All I want for Christmas…

xmas_ibiza-63

Two front teeth? Got ‘em. A partridge in a pear tree? Not enough space in my apartment. Gold, frankincense and myrrh? Difficult to gift-wrap. Mistletoe and wine? Perhaps. A White Christmas? Well, now that you mention it… (more…)

Miss W’s blog: Welcome to winter

Ibiza Lighthouse

The year-round Ibiza lifestyle is a tale of two seasons. The fast-paced, hectic, hedonistic glory days of summer, around four months in total, and the lengthy, lazy, chilled out winter months – yep, all eight of them (spring and autumn rarely rate a mention, despite putting in some pretty stellar performances!). (more…)

Miss W’s blog: Halloween queen

Aura Halloween 2011

One of the many things I love about Halloween in Ibiza is that I feel like I can get away with saying and doing almost anything, because no one knows your identity! There’s something about being in costume – and indeed, in character – that gives you a sense of freedom and courage, though I guess all the cocktails consumed may have something to do with that too! (more…)

Miss W’s blog: El Chiringuito Closing Party with Groove Armada

El Chiringuito de Es Cavallet, 2011 Closing Party

Here we are, almost at the end of October and the parties in Ibiza just keep on getting better! Seriously! Take El Chiringuito at Es Cavallet for example. Now that, my friends, is what an Ibiza closing party is all about… (more…)

Miss W’s blog: Cafe Mambo closing

A funny thing happened on the way to the Café Mambo closing…

You see, at the end of the season (and by this I mean post-DC10 closing party), you’d expect to be enjoying some quality downtime. A quiet night in with a DVD. Civilised dinners with friends. But no. Not this Saturday night. Why? Because not only was iconic sunset institution Café Mambo throwing their closing party, but the lovely folk from Rock Nights were also putting on a very special party at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel!
